Product Information

On the opposite side is “Great Seal of The Confederacy.” George Washington is the horseman.   The wreath consists of the South’s six main staples: cotton, sugar cane, wheat, rice ,corn, and tobacco.  “DEO VINDICE,” the motto of the Confederacy, is Latin for “God will vindicate.”  22 February 1862 is the date the Confederate Constitution was adopted.

The centerpiece on the other side of the coin is an eagle from a 1830s silver US half-dollar.  The shield has the “Stars and Bars” of the battle flag, with “CSA” above.  The thirteen stars stand for the eleven Confederate States.  The scripture, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,” is from Psalm 33:12. Under the eagle you will see the date of the coin.  “anno Domini” above the date stands for “in the year of our Lord.”
